The two terms that I felt I am exceptionally good at were analytical Thinking and initiative. My definition of a analytical thinking is to think of something in a way you know you can accomplish and having realistic ideas. I think I am a strong analytical thinker because of my habits on projects. I like to think as realistically as possible and find the most effective way to finish my project. My definition of initiative is someone who goes the extra step making sure their work is quality and on time no matter how many times it takes. I think that another thinking strength I have is initiative. I am a hard worker and love to get things in on time and do them right no matter how many times it takes me. If I don't do good on any school work I will almost always refine it to make sure it is the best it can be.
Two terms that I think are my weakest are creative thinking and open minded. My definition of creative thinking is having ideas that aren’t always achievable and take a look at something from a different aspect. I feel that I can work on this and some examples of this are my rube goldberg project. Knowing the timeframe I didn’t want to incorporate these more unique ideas into our rube. My definition of being open minded is being able to consider others ideas equally to yours. I know I can improve on this because when I am working in groups I seem to get one idea in my head and just start doing it. Also when others give me ideas that could improve the project I don't alway listen and put the ideas off without even considering them.

What I want to see happen with this project is to get the message of socialization out to the general public in a meaningful way that will stick with them. I want to give a detailed, meaningful overview of socialization and make people want to learn more on the topic because they know how much it affects their everyday life. I do not want people leaving thinking that the event was a waste of time and that they didn't pull any knowledge from it.
What I would want a parent to say about the exhibition is that they pulled away meaningful information that allows them to see how they are being socialized in everyday life. This would be important to hear because it would let me know the exhibition was a success. It would let me know that I achieved what I want to see happen in this exhibition. If a sociology professor came to the event and had something to say I would like to hear that we did a excellent job at portraying the cycle in a way that most people would be able to easily comprehend. We can make sure we are presenting accurate information to our audience using several different ways. We could make sure we use trusted credible sources. Another thing is that we could check with experts in the community. These would make sure that our information was accurate and we wouldn't give incorrect information to our community. Summary of what we are doing and what we have been doing:
What we have been doing for the last few days has been brainstorming and creating ideas for our exhibition. We have been making prototypes for the ideas we would like to see implemented into the exhibition and worked on creating posters and emails to receive feedback on these prototypes. We voted on which idea sounded the most promising and found out which one won today. The winning idea was to create a sociology maze of sorts. The idea was designed to introduce socialization to the community by giving them some base knowledge on the topic and introducing a way to create change by showing a example of how to break this cycle by going through the maze. What are the problems this exhibition is trying to address? The problems this exhibition is trying to address is how we need to break the cycle of socialization. This is such an important issue to address because in our modern society people are being told to fit these certain standards and are having their self confidence and self respect destroyed in the process of fitting these standards. What are you excited about doing for exhibition? WHY? What I am most excited about for this exhibition is getting the word of socialization out to the members of community. Socialization is a force that normally stays in the shadows and is not noted by most people who have their everyday life affected by the grueling cycle. A role I am excited about doing is videography. I have always been interested in filmmaking but have never been able to incorporate it into a project which is something that I have always wanted to do. I feel like incorporating a film into the project will allow members of community to have a deeper understanding of socialization and understand how big of a problem the cycle of socialization really is. |
